Paper cutting
Learn the traditional Chinese folk art of Paper Cutting with our Paper Cutting Class! Chinese paper cutting (jiǎnzhǐ) is the earliest form of paper craft. Since the invention of paper by the Chinese in 105 AD, it has been used for this traditional decorative folk art.
 
Cut-paper designs are commonly posted on windows and doors all around China and are sometimes also called “chuāng huā”, meaning “window flower”. Many of the designs are unbelievably intricate and wonderful!

Cooking Class + Paper Cutting Class

 
You can book a cooking class before the paper cutting class, too! In this class we will then cook two or three dishes that you can choose from the recipes list. This whole event will last for a day and is a relaxed and fun way to get an understanding of China’s history!

This also is a team building and group activity. Our teacher will demonstrate how to cut paper then guide you along as everyone tries it out themselves, practicing cutting and carving. After the event everyone gets a traditional silk-framed paper of their work.
