The pine-patterned egg. (Chinese: 松花皮蛋; pinyin: sōnghuāpídàn), is a famous product of Hunan Yiyang. also known as preserved egg, hundred-year egg, thousand-year egg, thousand-year-old egg, millennium egg, skin egg and black egg, is a Chinese preserved food product and delicacy made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing.

Through the process, the yolk becomes a dark green to grey color, the white becomes a dark brown, translucent jelly with a salty flavor.
Some eggs have patterns near the surface of the egg white that are likened to pine branches, and that gives rise to one of its Chinese names, the pine-patterned egg.

1 Box of soft tofu , 1 thousand-year egg , 2 pieces of garlic, 1 shallot, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 Red pepper, 1 tbsp sesame oil

Making process:

Step 1: steam black egg for 10 mins then chop it , Slice the garlic ,shallot and red pepper .

Step 2: Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, slice garlic and red pepper into a sauce.

Step 3: Pour over the black egg sauce in soft tender tofu(you can Slice it first),then sprinkle shallots can be eaten, simple and fast and delicious!
