Paper Cutting Experience Class

 
Learn the traditional Chinese folk art of Paper Cutting with our Paper Cutting Experience Class! Chinese paper cutting (jiǎnzhǐ) is the earliest form of paper craft.
 
They are commonly posted on windows and doors all around China and are sometimes also called “chuānghuā”, meaning “window flower”.
 
If you are interested in Chinese paper-cutting, don’t hesitate to attend our paper-cutting class where we’ll teach you different methods and tricks to cut different patterns, and the culture of paper cutting.

Indigo Weaving Activity

 
What, you might be wondering, exactly is indigo dyeing? In the unique smell of natural indigo, we could know more about the indigo cultural origin.
We ask the teacher to give us a tutorial in the class, then we broke the process down into step-by-step instructions. Ready to give it a go?
 
Since March 22 (on every Wednesday) at 7:15pm-8:45pm.

Tie-Dye Event

 
Tie Dye is a traditional and unique Chinese art and craft. The method that prevent to be colored by ligating the partial of the fabric during dyeing is one of the traditional techniques in China.
 
In the class, we will show you the history of the tie-dye and also we will show you how to tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dye(s).
 
Every Thursday at 10:00am-12:00am or 12:30pm-14:30pm

The dough Figurine Party

 
Dough Figurines are Chinese traditional art form and is commonly known as sticky rice flour toys.
 
It is made from flour used for cooking and baking, and the art form is popular. Local Beijingers like to make the Figurines a lot, and they often use them to decorate the home and for kids to play with.
 
In class, the teacher will teach 2 or 3 kinds of basic dough figurines, like cute animals or simple cartoon characters.
